Preparing for Fall
The Fairfax Christian School, in partnership with Kaplan Test Prep, is pleased to announce a summer college entrance exam prep opportunity to help your child prep smarter and score higher on the SAT. More competitive scores can enhance your child’s college admissions and scholarship opportunities.
Kaplan’s program at the Fairfax Christian School will provide your child with industry–leading products and services, the most personalized prep experience and unmatched expertise. Kaplan’s comprehensive, eight–session SAT course will teach Kaplan’s proven test–taking strategies and methods. Classes will be Monday through Thursday, 9:00am – 12 noon, August 13 – 24. Students will have two practice test days: August 13 and August 21. In addition to classroom sessions, students will have access to 30 hours of elective live instruction on the SAT Channel and 40 hours of on–demand lessons.
Students will complete their studies just in time for the SAT test on August 25. Register early as prices increase beginning three weeks prior to the start of class.
The Fairfax Christian School will also host the Summer English Institute, a three week intensive English program where ESL students can build their English skills and earn academic credit. International students excel in our intensive summer English classes, which are designed to quickly increase students’ English skills. Classes meet from 9:00am – 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, August 6 – 24. The program is offered for middle and high school students ages 9 and up. Students begin with comprehensive placement tests. Test results are then used to place each student in the appropriate levels for phonics, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, speech and TOEFL preparation. Students work in small groups with personal attention from the Fairfax Christian School’s teachers. Students also attend weekly educational field trips to popular sites in the Washington, D.C., area.
