Our third and fourth graders enjoyed their field trip to Gunston Hall this week.

Mrs. Thoburn's Etiquette Rules are in our Handbook for Parents and Students. Revisiting them from time to time helps us practice the courtesy and decorum we value throughout the year. Parents are encouraged to review these rules with younger children. Good manners learned in childhood become lifelong habits, opening doors and building the respect and relationships that lead to success well beyond the classroom.

It was wonderful connecting with so many parents at our first Coffee with the Deans event of the school year.

Today is a very special day for our community as we celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Fairfax Christian School. Since our founding on September 11, 1961, our mission has been to create scholars and give our students a competitive advantage as they live lives of gratitude and abundance. Today, we invite you to take a walk down memory lane with us to see just how far we've come.

Navigating university rankings can feel like cracking a secret code. You see a school ranked #1 on one list and #15 on another — so which one is right? The truth is that no ranking is perfectly objective. Each measures something different, from the number of Nobel laureate alumni to post-graduation salaries.

Our school year is off to a promising start following our Honor Code Assembly, where students recommitted to integrity and respect. With clubs now meeting and volleyball season starting up, we are full of positive energy for the year ahead.

Our middle and high school students assemble each year for one of our campus's most meaningful annual traditions: Our Honor Code Assembly. Students came forward to add their names to the Honor Code banner, publicly pledging: "I will not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate anyone who does."

This year we have partnered with Cafesano to provide healthy lunch options for our students and staff. With this change, online ordering will be different this year. All lunch orders will be done through FACTS.

Our Fairfax Christian School Summer Reading Challenge reading list has been expanded. Students entering 3rd through 12th grades can jumpstart their academic year and build a lifelong love for great literature.
